A wonderful pub with 16th-century roots and a reputation for providing the best hospitality for centuries. Offering real ales both local and international, carefully selected wines and truly creative British fare; the Anchor is one of Ripley’s oldest and most interesting historic buildings and has always had a long association with cyclists who find it a great place to stop for refreshment.
Working closely with Executive Chef Steve Drake, Head chef Michael Wall-Palmer serves a simple and seasonal British menu which also includes an interesting range of bar snacks and exquisite desserts. We pride ourselves on our drinks too, with a specially created gin menu to help bring out all the flavours and layers within the refreshing beverage and have an ever changing wine menu to make sure we are providing the most unique dining experience.
We have now created this blog for you as our loyal customers and newcomers to showcase our flavour discovery’s, the journey behind making our delicious dishes and just how you can make some of our dishes at home.
We hope you enjoy the journey………
